Green is the new black.

I always said to my friends that I was born to recycle. True enough, I am still recycling at 29 and soon to become 30. It getting more fun day after day and I keep discovering new modes of recycle every now and then. Green living is what I live for since I can differentiate between the blue and the green (it was quite a struggle during my childhood). I appreciate green more than my peers during my kindergarten, primary school, secondary school, university years and surprisingly, more than my colleagues in my current office. Not that I am better but I keep getting negative remarks from most of them when they saw a pile of recyclables at my home or at the corner of my office space. I usually keep the recyclables until they reach certain number (or height), so it will be worth the trip to the recycle bins at the ground floor.

I only came across a few newly-converted green mothers who realize the benefit of breastfeeding, cloth diapering, BYOB (bring your own bag – for shopping) and the benefit of green products. While they are busy preparing themselves to be greener and setting a good example to their child, I choose to venture into the macro level. Becoming 30, I feel the urge to keep myself updated on the current global green effort towards sustainable living (yes, it includes recycling) and find my way to contribute at the macro level. Well, this blog is a part of it.

I will publish features on products, individuals, agencies and also what I do to contribute towards sustainable development / green living (and other things got to do with it). I welcome any suggestions for suitable individuals for my interview and any interesting green products for review.

  2. cool nuyu!!!! live it up kay!!!!

    1. suggestion. the country is going green, introducing so many new stuff and green materials, and new codes and conduct and all. my opinion is, please solve the main issue - our landfill!!! today, only 5 % of our waste is being recycled. and i bet, it could only increase to 10% in a year or two. So - the landfill is still one thing to be concern.
I'd like to suggest a very good investment. Get incinerator for each states, and a compactor for an area if its not possible for each residency. it is a long term benefit for all.
to use biofuel, and bio evergy takes time, and expensive, with less amount of money, incinerator and compactor could be bought in less than a month, and can reduce waste issue is less than 6 months.

  3. Thanks, Andry and Zoora. To Zoora, I will get someone from National Solid Waste Management Department to give response on the matter. Or I will personally interview one of them :o)

  4. we used to have a proposal for incinerator right? prolly about 5 yrs ago at least. i'm not sure why they scrapped off that project. money issue is it? or more of location issue? i think local residents of the inc. proposed location didn't agree that the incinerator's going to be built on their neigbourhood.
